254 A.D. -- Rome
Quintilla hurried
through a dark street on a moonless night in July. The noise of
Rome, the busiest city on earth, was constantly wrapped around her
until distance peeled it away from her layer by layer. It was not
until she had arrived at the appointed meeting place did she realize
how quiet the city had truly become. As she hurried towards the
Tempus Fugit inn, she became accutely aware of how alone she was.

The door closes to a
crack as a woman pushes it shut gingerly, she peers outside the crack
looking for anyone that might have seen her come in at such an early
hour. Dawn is just breaking and the rays of sunlight enter through
the cracked door before they are snuffed out as soon as it shuts.
A light is turned on
and the woman turns from the door to cradle her puffed stomach with
both arms, it groans at her touch and wiggles slightly as her

THE CRITIC
Frank had never been happier or prouder than he was today. Their
