10/10.
So, I hauled ass to get this finished today because I wanted to wrap it up and move on.
I would like to take a break from Sophie comics for a little while and draw commissions again. I'll update my info and post a journal when I'm ready.
Thank you for reading!

You're a very good visual storyteller. It's clear you know exactly how to manipulate people's emotions through dialogue, angles, expressions, and situations. I could learn a thing or two from you. :)

That's a little fucked up. In a good way. You're good at attaching realistic personalities to essentially throwaway characters, I like that.
[ Reply ]
Posted by Deleteduser532 10 years ago Report
It is good but it is a far stretch to call the personalities realistic (unless this includes abnormal mentality). Sophie's personality is realistic. However, Belinda's personality is enigmatic to me. Her personality is bizarre, even when compared with humans with unusual mental disorders (or disturbing modes rationalization or thinking). Throughout most of stories like this one, Belinda seems to be acting in a fashion that is usually associated by someone "giving into the voice of the devil". In other words, Belinda's personality reflects that of a demon instead of a human. This may explain why Sophie has not attempted to devour Belinda. I am simply stating that I am gravely confused by Belinda's personality. I would be convinced that the personality is realistic if Belinda was portrayed as a succubus (or something similar) instead of a human. In addition, technically, any personality portrayed as realistic when present in the realm of vore. After all, the extent of the "realistic" quality of emotions and personalities presented in vore can only be hypothesized and/or theorized by our minds. Thus, in the end, the nature of a realistic personality present in the realm of vore is purely subjective. What may be fully convincing to you may be found to be completely barbaric and of pseudo-creation.
I have no idea why I felt like I needed to write this. Nevertheless, in a way, I am a slave to the creativity of my mind.

That is a big comment, thank you for your effort you put to write it. I don't know if you will read it 5 years after, but still.
I think Belinda's personality is pretty realistic and close to that of a psychopath. She is manipulative towards Sophie and doesn't feel affection towards other human beings,

That was really interesting, but a tad bit too depressing for my tastes. I'm kind of spoiled in that way; I prefer to avoid downbeat stories in my fetishy interests (well, in general, but that's more of a personal issue).
I'm not saying its bad; quite the opposite in fact. It's an interesting idea for a story, and the characters driving forces are interesting. I think the ending was a little weak, but only because it turned from a story about choices to forced fetishism (on Bee's end).
I love the fact that these two have gone so far beyond fetish characters, though, so I'm glad I read it!

I think she just needs to talk to someone. Someone who isn't mentally insane or won't judge her because she's a man-eating dragon. This may be a pain created by the mind, and what she needs to do is discover for herself what caused these urges to be implanted into her mind to begin with, which possibly originated from childhood or even before she was born.

I'm so torn between feeling overwhelming pity for Sophie, and absolute unashamed love/hate for Belinda!
I hate her, yet am delighted by the surprising depth of her cruelty. Seeing her help ambush hapless victims in previous comics was nothing compared to this. She just seemed to love Sophie. Apparently she loves Sophie enough to trample anyone in her way, including Sophie. Sure, Sophie is scary, but she’s a predator. Belinda is a fucking monster, and like most true monsters: she just looks like another face in the crowd. How perfect!
Exceptional comic. Dynamite, plain and simple.

This comic is deep. Deep in revealing aspects from your both characters, about the predator's morality or likes and the influences of the others around.
I should say that this is until now the comic here that I love the most. Is not the most amazingly/detailedly drawn, but the storytelling is awesome, the style works and the green helps to set a mood different than how this would be if was drawn in black.
Belinda decreased in my list of likes but Sophie went up in it. Still i can't say I dislike Belinda completely-- I have somebody that have told me verbatim the same words ("You can't think in them as people-- they're just food, nothing more") and I love that somebody to death. Altough that somebody respects when I like a prey and want to let it go, hehe.
[ Reply ]
Posted by Shyguy9 11 years ago Report
I think Bee truly believes those words. She may even believe that this is the only way to help Sophie, by desensitizing her to the violence she must commit on a regular basis in order to survive.
Bee is cruel, unforgiving and merciless towards her fellow man, but she loves Sophie. She just went too far this time.

Fantastic! Your work is totally gnarly, dude. I mean, you've always been good at storytelling but this is another one of those significant rungs on the ladder.
It explains so much backstory and context without being contrived; handles issues of immense gravity that are core to the idea of vore and the psychological ramifications, and it sets up for so many other ideas and really draws to a close with the sense that this world is so much bigger and more complicated than what you've shown here.
Well done. : 3

Haha, goddamn, Belinda. I like how she and Sophie are like two sides of the same coin. I can definitely see Sophie, a dragon, having a capacity for caring for people (she's a predator because it's part of her nature) and Belinda comes across as a self-indulgent, pure sociopath, which is why I could see why she faces so much disdain after this. But I like her! She makes for an excellent villain.
I'd be intrigued to see how things unfold from here...!

Posted by Shyguy9 11 years ago Report
Awesome! I'm glad you feel that way. It's exactly the kind of point I was trying to get across. Theirs are two personalities I strongly associate with this fetish.
...Also, I find villains to be far more interesting than heroes, which might be why I'm obsessed with exploring the darker sides of my characters.
[ Reply ]
Posted by Very 11 years ago Report
I like villains a lot more too! Vore context or no, they just have a certain something that heroic characters lack, but overall I think grey morality is the most interesting territory, which is where motivation is a key aspect, not just the actions by themselves.
And it's also great to see Belinda get some more development!

Good as a story.
Emotional twists and turns an all.
Personally didn't like the ending from a "aw :C I liked that character" perspective but from a story telling perspective it was fantastically well done.
As others have said, I do not Belinda now, wasn't overly fond before, but not so much because she's being evil and predatory, after all, so many of our fav characters in are :P
-It's more the fact that she claims to love Sophie and will still do something like this to her, using her at her most vulnerable.
Ya don't do that to someone you love after all.
Putting waaaaay too much thought into this :P

Exactly. If anything must be done to help Sophie, Belinda should be taken out of the equation, as she only seems to make things worse for her without her realizing it. She's blinded by the fact that "Bee" is the only one who showed her compassion.

*puts on over-thinking hat*
So Sophie represents vore and the vore community as a whole, eager to eat people up but always seeking to justify or ignore the guilt. Belinda represents the implications of vore, that someone has to be killed. Sophie gets mad at the implications she doesn't want to hear, but does nothing to confront them. She just continues the game because at the end of every vore piece someone has to be eaten.
Exemplified by this very comment section, where Belinda is treated as the villain even though Sophie had all the information she needed to say it wasn't right, do the right thing and let him go. But she went and ate him anyway because the devouring was inevitable, not Sophie's fault. It was Belinda's fault for showing just how messed up it can all be.
*takes off over-thinking hat*
Not that I think any of that was intentional. But perhaps the most interesting part of this comic is the reactions. : )

Hit it on the nail. Sophie knew what she wanted the moment she convinced the guy to come home with her. Just because her little game backfire and she grew emotions doesn't make her any less innocent. It's like people forgot all of the cruel things sophie's done in the past, just because she felt bad about this one? ...really? And yet people are mad at Belinda because she showed the awful truth. Yeah.. truth can be cruel and evil looking huh? ;)

I revisited this comic now because I was in the mood for something powerful, in the storytelling sense of the word. I read it because I was in the mood for a short story not just about vore but about the value of life. Beyond the fact that the themes of the story appeal to my personal taste, this comic is a valuable work to the community of artists here as an example of how vore can be integrated with something deeper and also as a demonstration of proper storytelling technique.
I'd recommend putting this comic in its own folder, so that people new to your gallery can find it easier without having to go back pages.

Lovely characters too, even if Bee is a monster. And quick question, is Sophie still like 'this'? does she still want to let some people go or is she alright with eating and digesting people without a care?
