Mistakes were made.
I've been watching some original series Star Trek lately and I could just see Spock, perfectly calmly, speaking the right hand voice balloon text. 83

Someone give transporter chief Kyle an award or promotion for learning how to revive the dead

To be fair, the transporter can do a TON of wacky stuff. Restore youth, split people into two separate personas, beam people into alternate universes, DE-youthify people back to their adult selves. The only reason they don't use it as an immortality machine is plot.

I suppose you’re right, still, seems like something this guy should be rewarded for. He turned vore into a safe practice

Yeah... I remember they had a history of using the transporters as basically a Deus ex Machina...

Then they invented the Holodeck and most of the Hijinks migrated there!

True.

Someone did a pic and short story about M'ress getting eaten by Master Viper after the holodeck safety protocols got turned off. Turning those off never ends well. 83

Oh? May I see this story?

"Fascinating..."

Also... hang on... Kyle is beaming the prey out of her belly? Oh my... that will leave her hungry yet again...

No no, the idea is they record a "state" for each crewman, then just materialize a new body for them out of base material stored on the ship. Just like a food replicator. In fact the "base material" can be poop so the new captain may be partially made from the old one. 83

cloning "reformation" just not the same.
Posted by Strega 5 years ago Report
Think of it as a backup. The transporter can make a perfect copy of someone (there are a couple of instances of it making two copies form one original). If the ship backed you up every night when you go to bed, you’d never lose more than a day of memories if they had to reform you.

No, I'd be dead. My clone would have my memories tho. So from an outside perspective it would be fine.

The argument is sometimes made that transporters kill the old you and make a copy. By that line of reasoning you’d already be a copy of a copy of a copy (and so on) if you served on the Enterprise.

That's true. I'll take the shuttle then.

That’s what Doctor McCoy did in the episode of TNG he appeared in. Man did not trust transporters.

Hah! Glad to see a followup; I can always count on you for my semi-obscure Star Trek related kink fix!

Mistakes? Or fun times? ewe
Posted by testuser 5 years ago Report
Heh you gonna make some sorta star-trek story with M'ress species, Strega?
Posted by Strega 5 years ago Report
I could see doing a POV story with her as the pred.

Welp better not end up on a Catian dominated ship then x3
Those transporters must be running overtime :p

"We need parts to replace our transporter cores."
"Again?! This is the eighth time this MONTH!"
"...They get used a lot."
