The alarm blared, and
Nate jumped in his seat.
Lights were flashing at
the little red alarm panels scattered around his office, and people
were stopping in place to look around in confusion. Nate lifted his
hands from the keyboard, pushing his chair back and slowly stood up
uncertainly. A few of the people around him were starting to walk
towards the exit. Feeling frustrated, he began to join them, already
feeling behind on his work and not in any mood for another setback.
