It's just another word for pipe, it has 3 or 4 meanings depending on the context it is used for.

I was using it in the second context listed: A tube, a pipe, or a hole.
In my work if you have to install piping that takes an odd or tedious/overly long route its refered to as a Fistula. so in the context of a backdoor baquet i found it fitting. I hope this clarifies the wording :)
