I am sure the unfortunate fur halfway into Uvuzi's stomach would take comfort if he knew she wasn't enjoying the meal much. Well, he'd enjoy it until digestion set in, anyway. 83

Armor for highly nonhumanoid races is always tricky to draw. How do you armor a lamia? The most practical way is to armor only the top half of the snake part. You still need straps to hold it on, though, and those become an issue when a rather large bulge is trying to slide down into the belly regions.

Uvuzi's a great character, and this is one of my favourite drawings of her. I like the fact that the vore is kind of incidental and expected---seems to be part of a coherent world, rather than a fetish shot.

I don't suppose the technology level of this setting has anything like spandex? That would solve her problems right up. Imagine a stretchy body glove with interlocking scales sliding over one another. (In purple, yellow or hot pink---I don't think you can get spandex in any other colours :)

Magic armor could be arranged, but it would have to be custom made and it'd be expensive. Plus it would cover up even more of Uvuzi's pretty fur.

I'm thinking that some special scale-like armor would work, with lots of individual plates hinged together to flex with Uvuzi. Of course, the armor would ride up and shorten around a big meal, but at least it wouldn't pinch. 83

Nice pic!

It's not impossible to armor her, the issue is mainly the straps. I don't see any way to not use them (except magic), and elastic straps wouldn't work with heavy armor, so they are still going to bite into that massive bulge as it slides down.

Yep, lamias are hard to armor, especially if they plan to eat on the battlefield!

I would be willing to help test the designs, though I'd only be good for one test. X3

well coudl always use springs and elastic banding of somekind, with some girth expanding armor. liek how the piecesof a humans armor belly can slide up and down to bend. they could jsut have the sliding pivots on her side. but again hard to move in said armor sinceher belyl woudlbe inside the armor anyway

lol, the old D&D refitting "complaint" but this time around, because of vore hehehe, it has to be refitted pre ingestion and then again AFTER ingestion. Strega, ahahahahah... only you could turn this into a "what if" question >_>

Now my question is: why on the gods green earth *fantasy setting, so ya know there is more then one god/goddess >_> * does a lamia need armor? I mean seriously, isn't she a mean enough of a fight NOW?

She's large as sin; she can eat you DURING combat!; and and and OMG... armor too? I smell a "killer" DM around here XD

Player falls over laughing at just the thought of the look on their old players faces when the first party member got ate! "Natural 20! Oh yes!" "what does that mean?" "who did she hit?" "oh man, I only had 5hps left, did she hit me?" "you all notice a bulge next round working its way along her belly into her snake half..." "WTF? o.0 " "silence..." "roll initative" *sinister music starts*

Apologies, but you are so good at sending me down memory lane with certain "what if's" attached to the trips <3~

She's big and strong, but not well protected. You could shoot her full of arrows or hack her up while she attacked your friends. If there's just one of you, yes, you may become that bulge, but her biggest fear is running into a group of adventurers. That's why she usually stays in a city where monsters are legal.

Imrhys

Wait, isn't a big group of well armored adventurers every monster's worst nightmare? *smirks*

But see your point, i was more making fun of the joys of past gaming experiences, and well the perfect situations preds themselves idealize: singular or going off on their own prey/targets, make this armor talk pointless. But for long term survival *nods* I get your point. Thus why if i wanted a "boss" type or encounter to be truly dangerous, I gave them magical rings of protection, etc..

Rambling, apologies >_>;;

Most D&D manuals tend to point out that lamias prefer ambush anyway, usually from within a lair that is accessible by one entrance only, and said entrance only allows in one person at a time. So yes, a serpent on the battlefield needs to be massive enough to ignore small arms and weapons, or well-armored.

*Maybe the armor will slow her down enough for me to get away.*

I really like how this turned out. Practical problem presented enjoyably is win.

XD loreit has the same problem, thats why she never wears hers.

This is where a medieval Gadgeteer Genius would come in handy.

A spring-pulley-soft leather strap system would work nearly as well as elastics in accommodating bulges, and would still keep the plates taut, especially if loose padding was placed under the rigging.

Still expensive, but alot less so then magic straps!

Codo

Hm... I'd say use a type of cloth at first for the straps, like a stretchy kind, so it moves comfortably... But since she's a lamia, and has to slither, I think it would wear out the cloth. Perhaps segment the clothe with a few metal or leather plate-like segments, so it can stretch, yet still take wear and tear? :3

To me there is no need to think of complicated ways to armor her.
If a better solution would have been used then there would be nothing funny about this great pic^^

"Here, try some elastic."

Awesome picture Strega. I love the armor design, and it's always nice to see your skunk-lamias. :3

I'd actually thought of that same problem when I came up with reinterpreting werewolves to be a player race, as their bodies grow a bit larger (though not enough to qualify as a different size class) when they shift from human to hybrid form.
The solution that I came up with was that they used spider-silk instead of leather to attach the different segments of armor.
Considering all of the giant spiders (and driders) in D&D, Uvuzi might be able to get enough silk to fix her problems rather easily.

Sure, elastic straps solve one problem, but if she's really full even the armor is going to be rather tight. 83
