Make sure to read the manual before demonstrating an HDTF enhanced device. Otherwise, well, you'll end up squished inside something or someone.

A roommate was nice enough to give me his old bluetooth keyboard, so now I have a vastly improved capacity to type on my phone or tablet. Hopefully this'll allow me to get some of my commissions written in situations where I otherwise couldn't. Until then, please enjoy this story that is being written specifically to test the effectiveness of the keyboard, and such. It's a stream of consciousness story, so it'll probably be a little wackier or more poorly thought out than most. Also, probably worse spelling. Anyway, here it is.

The HDTF is theoretically a nightmare for OSHA, though technically it cant really kill anyone

Groblek

Posted by Groblek 5 years ago Report

Somewhere between a nightmare and a dream - adding it to things suddenly eliminates worries about severe injuries from assorted machinery, but gives them a whole new, bizarre, class of accidents to try and develop safety guidance for.

Squidpad

Now I'm thinking about how those cheesy OSHA training videos would go. "If another employee is forced into your body, stay calm, and contact your supervisor." *Clip of a woman in a hard hat with a bloated, wriggling stomach calmly turning off the machine and walking to a phone*

You're going to make me write that story now, aren't you?

Squidpad

Posted by Squidpad 5 years ago Report

If you don't, I have half a mind to write it myself.

Heh, that’s a fun idea.

That's one of the things I like about Marloweny's HDTF stuff is the lack of even the chance of death and or injury. That said it does rather open up the possibility of people simply getting trapped in things/people.

marloweny

Posted by marloweny 5 years ago Report

I do greatly prefer something with no threat of death. Just lots of good feelings or wackiness.

Groblek

Posted by Groblek 5 years ago Report

Ooh, fun! That’s going to make for quite an incident report when they all have to account for their absences.

Incident: Double bagged in plastic, shrunk, and stuffed into direct superior.

Incident: Forcibly packaged in prospective client.

Incident: Stripped by machinery, force fed vendor, intimately entangled with underling, re-dressed by machinery, nylon-encased by machinery.

"... I think we're going to have to update the employee handbook."

Groblek

Heh. I think whoever gets stuck with that update will need a stiff drink after hearing their new assignment.

This... This was really interesting to read. Now you've inspired me to post an image of one of my concept character that I don't think I ever would have posted in the first place. My anthropomorphic box girl. I'm a packaging engineer in real life. Never in a million years did I expect somebody else to make packaging related things.

marloweny

Posted by marloweny 5 years ago Report

Thanks! You'd be surprised. There are lots of times I've been certain that, okay, this is the story that'll lose them. But I'll be darned if folks don't share common tastes you'd never have expected.

HankTheAnt

You're actually where about 75% of my tastes the past year or so have been discovered. I can't tell if we're like-minded or if you just write so well that I'll enjoy anything you write.
But honestly keep up the good work.

Every once in a great while you do manage to lose me for a story or two, but it seems as though others always turn up who appreciate the work, and then you peak my interests again the next time around.

In this case, as soon as I read that this machine had an input port for the packaging you had me hooked, waiting for the moment when someone would accidentally make themselves into the "package" for whoever else was pulled in at the same time. I didn't expect the salesman to get involved though, as I figured he would know better.

Also, some time down the road it's not at all hard to imagine the employees abusing this machine for purposes unrelated to their job, consentually or otherwise. "Riding together" to save money on a bus ticket home, a hazing ritual for the new guy, etc. The HDTF is great for that, because no matter what happens, you know that everyone is going to come out ok in the end.

I remember, way back at the start, you were one of the people whose comments I most looked forward to. I feel like my writing was a deeper and more character driven in those days. It's rewarding to know you continue to enjoy my stories. I really hope I can get back to a nice rich story like Size isn't a Big Deal again, if only because I'd like to reward long time fans like you with some of the original recipe.

For me, I love most of the things you write. There was one series I never really got on board with for some reason, I think it was called Fate, but I know it wasn't too weird. I think that it had felt like a reference I didn't get, and then I didn't want to jump in later.
And as to why I keep coming back, we seem to have a similar view of what about a kink makes it sexy, so even most of your weird stuff is arousing for me.

marloweny

It's understandable why that set of stories would stand out to you. Fate is one of the patreon story sets. It's based on a pre-existing anime game that I'm only familiar with via the commissioner and the Wiki.

I got that vibe, like picking up a book in the middle. Figured it was some sore of fan-fic, although patreon makes sense.

ShadesofBlack

Mmmff! <3. This thing would make a lovely party game, as long as someone somewhat responsible was kept in charge of the handling of it and such.

Sooner or later, they're going to have to develop an HDTF exemption device. To prevent it from ruining all the accidental fun though, I'd suggest having it only work right if it's properly set up and "sinced" to the HDTF device it's paired to. Basically like a wearable bracelet or something that encases the wearer in a localized disruption field exactly tuned to cancel out the HDTF device it's paired with.

Could cause some great mishaps of it's own though, since if someone gets put inside them... then they're suddenly out of the field and their current shape becomes the default. Makes some mishaps harder, but also harder to correct. Hmmm, maybe this idea still needs work.

What about an HDTF powered "unjumbler" which is like the packaging machine, but in reverse. Identifies input that's two reasonably separate objects/persons one contained inside or tangled with another, and unpackages them? Wouldn't be as easy to mass produce, but might help with the cleanups.

marloweny

Yeah, I feel like there'd be a thriving black market for industrial "safety devices." Probably the Mad Science Kink crew would quickly start making most of their money in restorations.

Nightcrawler99

Nice story!
If you do a sequel, I'd really enjoy one where the woman gets free of her wrapping but doesn't let the two inside her out cause it feels too good.

I just LOVE unwilling entrapment stories be they accidental or not.^^

I love the ending, it got a hell of a laugh out of me. I love the idea of her being like "what have I got to lose?" and then getting herself stuck there for who knows how long
