The ship docked
roughly on the islands sandy beach. The sound of waves gently
lashing the coast muffled by the grinding of wood on sand. Energized
footsteps pounded the deck, crew members grabbing ropes and securing
the boat so that it would not be reclaimed by the sea. It took time,
but the ship was finally secure. The crew rejoiced by running out
onto the beach, several whopping in joy. Mitch stepped out of his
cabin, scanning the island, a grin creeping across his face.

The heavy droning
sound of the rain falling against you rang loudly in your ears. Your
feet shuffled through the mud, your hands wrap around your chest as
you tried to keep yourself warm under your soak clothes. You grumbly
think to yourself, “Go to the forest, they said, it’s a beautiful
sight to see.” What your friends seem to left out is don’t get
lost in it and hope to god it doesn’t rain. Then again, it was
probably your fault of not making sure your smart phone was fully

THIS is how he’s going to punish me? I suppose it isn’t SO bad.
The only problem is that even with my eyes adjusting I can’t really
see much of anything. I can hear myself think though, since it’s so

Saelria padded along the hallway of her shared apartment. She was feeling bored. Because of the wildly divergent schedules among her roommates, there was a multi-hour chunk of the day when she was the only one around, and she tended to get a little stir crazy. The slime dragoness was a very social creature, and though she always had the little fishy in the fish bowl at the end of her tail to keep her company, it wasn’t the most stirling of conversationalists. Roundabout now, she’d ki

Steelclaw rose from his slumber uneasily. Last night had not gone as smoothly as he remembered. Mother and siblings refusing to commit to a favoured claimant, the bastard walking around like she had any right to be here. He had given up on trying to curry favour pretty early into dinner. Instead demanding a generous stream of wines.
Dragons were quite resilient creatures, but even they had their limits. The hangover from several barrels worth of wine was one such

In the far away land of Fyorania, her majesty, the Queen, has summoned the young knights-in-training to her throne room to be given a task in order for them to become full fledged knights. They're to wander the country-side and aid those who seek it, be they to put an end to one of the many bandit leaders that roamed the land or to retrieve holy relics and gather ancient texts for the kingdom's scholars. Many returned proud and was knighted by the Queen herself, but it's rare to see a squire ret

This was strange. Lex had just walked into his apartment and was immediately greeted by the presence of a very large and tall box. Heavy, too, as he determined by immediately poking his snout into what was undoubtedly his roommate’s business. “Wei? What’s this thing in the kitchen?” There was no response. He walked over to his roommate’s bedroom, but the dragon was nowhere to be seen. “Huh. Well, I’m sure he won’t mind if I check out what he got.”The wolf popped out a claw, tea

*boing**boing*“Weeeeee!”*boing*In the waning hours of the day, with the sun setting behind the mountains and his family returning home for the night one by one, Toby was happily passing his time. Beneath him lie his big brother Torh, sprawled out on his side- as close to being on his back as he could get. A dragon’s spines naturally made it difficult, if not impossible, to fully recline- which was normally a good thing; a dragon rarely wanted to be belly-up on the ground. But t

Ah, the rain. The whole world changed when it rained. All that water in the air weighed down a dragon’s flight and clouded their vision. Stronger winds made it harder to stay on course. Animals in the forests and valleys below sheltered and hid out of sight, their scents washed away. Potential firewood became wet and useless. For Toby’s family, it meant spending a bit of time inside; the outside chores put on hold. But for Toby himself, it meant something a little different. On sunny da

“Owww!!”The relaxing dragoness, more than half asleep, jolted awake as her ears sprang to attention. That had been the unmistakable sound of her little human brother crying out in pain. Surprised and concerned, she quickly rose to her feet and left her private little nook, exiting into the maze of tunnels and caves she called home. Following the whimpers and sobs led her quickly to the next chamber over, where she found the young boy curled up on the ground with his hands over his kn

Chores. Everyone in the family had chores. For his older siblings- his parent’s first clutch- it was hunting, along with most of his cousins. Siblings from the younger clutch and the other less experienced fliers gathered firewood. The rest usually helped clear out the ashes and keep the caves clean. On top of that, someone always had to keep an eye on all the younglings to make sure they weren’t getting into trouble, and there were constant lessons from the family’s elders on

woman stood on the roof with a knowing smile. More specifically, she
was standing on a broad wooden platform which she had apparently

sat by a riverbank, munching away at a hunk of flame-roasted meat,
courtesy of her friend Mallow. The large dragon lay a few feet away,
enjoying her own meal. The girl chewed idly as she watched the dragon

almost immediately. The sight was fixating enough on its own, but
even more so when you had first-hand experience of what was happening
after the food slipped past those jaws and into the red abyss beyond.
