Prior
to the start of the story arc: Milly,
originally from the world of Melhh, arrives in Felarya, explores it,
finds a place to settle, and builds herself a hut. She has left her
homeworld in accordance with tradition, a majority of young adults
being expected to migrate out of their home village. A tribe of
tomthumbs called the Alsumi dig out burrows under her hut and settle
there, for safety. She discovers them, and befriends them. Tina,

The
leaning tower of demons wobbled as Kali struggled to reach the vent
above, her fingertips scrabbling on the edge of the cool steel
passageway. Aeblis winced as Kali's foot squashed down on her head,
the smaller demon being nonetheless quite heavy. Claw-like nails dug
into the top of her head. "Hey, be careful!" Aeblis
protested.
"Shhh,
she'll hear us," Kali hissed, glancing down at her partner in
