Eve, I've been a fan of your work for years now and I can safely say: I love it.

The way your art is so subtle in texture yet the line work is so smooth like ancient Celtic line work, it really makes the art feel organic and give off a feel like a legitimate work of art.

The stories are always a pleasure to read and helps give the story a full body but a poetic feel to it. Each piece of your work feels like an undiscovered fulfilling poem one reads on art sites.

I can imagine this being the result of a skinny dip gone wrong.

They thought to take a dip in a lake known for its large fish and sticky plants. After losing a few to the fishes, they left their clothes and ran directly into range of a silk-spitting plant.

One by one, they were dragged into its maw, kicking and screaming. As the last of them goes down its tube, it will have plenty to sustain it until the next bunch try to go swimming in the nearby lake.

I'm glad to hear that. I personally consider this to be less polished than other stuff I put out, but that's not to say it's less enjoyable. I'm most fond of the writing in the midnight wolf series, though the fox's meal story is probably a better vore experience.

But it's very hard to tell what's good writing while you're writing it, this one may very well be the best experience out of all of them, even with less polish, or perhaps because of that.

Regardless, I'm trying out all different kinds of stories, and I hope they all match your expectations, and continue to be enjoyable.

It's definitely an easier thing to spot after the fact than it is while in the process of actually writing. And it's absolutely an easier thing to spot in other people's work than it is your own.

It's rather intangible isn't it? I can't quite define what exactly makes the tone work. Some stories just have it and others don't...

As a computer programmer it really bugs me that I can't define that in a nuts and bolts kind of way.

Personally, I find dark and twisted endings equally capable of failing to excite most of the time. It all comes down to the tone of the work surrounding it. This series, for example, has never been much of "The Worst Person Wins" Barbara was, while not awful, certainly the more threatening, dangerous person in the first stories. She just lost at her own game as her rather simple daughter lived up to and exceeded her.

Likewise in this story, Jackie is to the point of being far worse than Barbara ever was. It wouldn't have really worked if she came out victorious.

You've got a pretty good handle on the tone of your stories. Not everyone does.
